Book a time that suits you

Meet live over video

Your first session is a genuine conversation, live over video. Join from wherever you feel most at ease: the lounge, your car, a quiet room. Any clinical assessment, including an ADHD assessment, happens here in a live consultation with your clinician. It is never a form that hands back a result.

Ongoing and flexible

Build your plan together

From there, you and your clinician build a plan that fits your goals. It can adapt as you do, with weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions. Individual experiences vary, and a session does not guarantee a particular outcome.

  • Your care plan is reviewed and adjusted as you go
  • No lock-in contracts, so you can pause or stop anytime
  • Message us between sessions about admin questions (not monitored continuously, and not for urgent help)

From your first hello to ongoing support, here is what care with Synapsea includes.

A calm first conversation
Your first session is a live video consultation. It is a chance to talk things through and understand the support that may suit you.
One clinician, start to finish
You work with the same clinician across therapy, coaching and assessment. Continuity of care, not a rotating pool.
Secure video sessions
Sessions run on a secure, encrypted video platform. No app to download. Just click the link we send before each session.
Flexible scheduling
Morning, evening and weekend times are available. Cancel or reschedule with more than 48 hours' notice for no fee. Between 24 and 48 hours, a 50% fee applies; under 24 hours or non-attendance, the full fee applies.
Between-session support
Message your practitioner between sessions for quick check-ins, questions, or if something comes up unexpectedly.
Medicare rebates
With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, a Medicare rebate may apply to therapy sessions. We can explain what this means for you.

A few things people often ask before their first session.

No referral is needed to start with Synapsea. You can reach out directly and book a first session without visiting a GP. If you would like to access a Medicare rebate for therapy, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. We can explain how this works.

We aim to offer appointments sooner than the usual wait. Once you reach out, we will be clear about current availability so you can book a time that suits you. As a single-clinician practice, times can vary, and we will always be honest about what is open.

Sessions happen live over video, so it is a genuine conversation, just from a place that suits you. Many people find it easier to open up from their own space. Telehealth is not suitable for every concern. Your clinician may recommend in-person care, a GP review or a referral where appropriate. If you are in crisis, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or 000. Synapsea is not an emergency service.

Session costs vary by service type, and we share our fees upfront before you book. With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may claim up to 10 Medicare-rebated therapy sessions per calendar year. Coaching is a non-clinical service and is not covered by Medicare. We will walk you through your options before you start.

Feeling at ease with your clinician matters. At Synapsea you work with one clinician, so there is no pressure to commit beyond a first session. If this is not the right fit for you, just let us know. We can talk through your options or help point you toward other support.

Just a device with a camera and microphone (smartphone, tablet or laptop), a stable internet connection, and a private space where you feel comfortable. We send you a secure link before each session. There are no app downloads required.
